Van Susteren: Ariana Grande Should Prove She’s Sorry, Maybe Sing a Patriotic Song

PicMonkey Collage - GretaEver since Ariana Grande cancelled her MLB All-Star Game appearance and got caught on video for an unpatriotic donut-licking, celebrities, the media, and online commenters have made the incident into a week long commotion to blast the singer.

Grande has apologized for the incident multiple times: first in a statement about how she said “I hate America” in terms of the national obesity epidemic and our obsession with fatty foods, and then later in a YouTube video, where she said that all things considered, Grande has never “never been prouder” to be an American, and that she regretted she “missed [her] opportunity to sincerely apologize and express how [she] was feeling.”

For Fox’s Greta Van Susteran, Grande’s video apology is still not enough. Van Susteran acknowledged Grande’s video, saying that she “bought it”, but also said that Grande was “a bit of a diva,” even if she will grow out of it eventually.

“It isn’t enough to say sorry after you’ve been caught, you need to real prove it, and she can,” Van Susteran. She went on to say that Grande could visit troops with actor Gary Sinise, or that “she can use her natural talents and perform a patriotic song,” recommending a duet with “God Bless the USA” artist Lee Greenwood.

Once she acts on her apology, Van Susteran says, “the rest of us, we should just get over it.”
