DNC’s Wasserman-Schultz Gets Emotional on CNN Defending Decision to Back Iran Deal
Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz revealed to CNN’s Jake Tapper this morning that after lots of struggling and uncertainty, she’s voting in favor of the Iran deal.
Her reticence to support President Obama‘s deal has been a subject of some attention by the press, including a recent report that she blocked a DNC resolution praising the president over the deal.
Wasserman-Schultz told Tapper it’s been a hard decision and there are some things that still give her “angst and pause,” but ultimately decided the pros outweighed the cons.
When Tapper asked her about Jewish Americans accusing her of selling out Israel’s security, Wasserman-Schultz got emotional and talked about how her “Jewish heart” and how the security of Israel is of primary importance to her.
