WATCH: Fox News Simulcasts the First Lap of the Daytona 500 as Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch Waves the Green Flag
Fox News stepped into Fox Sports’ territory by switching their feed over to the Daytona 500 and airing Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch getting the race started.
Fox News Live dedicated most of its first 10 minutes to the NASCAR race on Sunday, where Fox Nation is sponsoring the Spire Motorsports No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro being driven by Landon Cassill, who has been featured in the Fox Nation series “Road to Daytona.”
Cassill wasn’t the only Fox figure headlining at the race though. Eric Shawn and Arthel Neville noted that Murdoch was there to wave the green flag as the Honorary Starter for the 64th running of The Great American Race, NASCAR’s signature event.
Fox News aired Murdoch waving the flag, and stuck with the race through the first before Shawn directed race fans to switch over to Fox Sports if they wanted to continue watching.
“Man, that is a fast and exciting afternoon in Daytona,” Shawn said.
