Watch: Local TV Station Evacuates in the Middle of Tornado Report
A large number of Mississippi counties are currently under tornado watch, with a large tornado currently causing damage across the state. One local news channel had to evacuate because of the tornado in the middle of a report on how bad the tornado is getting.
Meteorologist Matt Laubhan was covering tornado warnings for WTVA, and things sounded a little frantic at the station as he walked around to make sure they were still broadcasting. In the middle of the newscast, the signal for the station conks out and they start evacuating live on the air.
Emergency crews are still looking for survivors in areas already hit by the tornadoes. At least 16 people have been killed so far.
