‘We Can’t Have a President Who’s a F*cking Felon’: Protestor Lets Fly During MSNBC Live Hit
A protester interviewed by MSNBC during Saturday’s “No Kings” protests was not interested in self-censoring when offering her thoughts on President Donald Trump.
Around 2,000 protests were held across the country to protest Trump’s actions, especially the nationwide raids by federal agents to arrest and deport undocumented immigrants. Protests have been ongoing in Los Angeles since last week after Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted a series of raids in and around the city. In response, Trump federalized 4,000 California National Guardsmen and deployed 700 Marines to the state over the objections of state and local officials.
On Saturday, MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff covered protests in Los Angeles and spoke with some demonstrators on an overpass overlooking U.S. Route 101.
“Guys, can I see what your sign says?” he said to two demonstrators. “We’re live on MSNBC.”
Quoting the sign, Soboroff said, “Immigrants, Palestinians, resistance are not the enemy. Don’t let the ruling class tell you who the enemies are.”
He read another sign that said, “Liberty and justice for all” in Spanish.
“How’s it feel to be out here over the 101 with all these people honking in support of you guys?” he asked the protester.
“I mean, there’s no reason for all this,” she replied. “I mean, it’s unlawful. We can’t have a president who’s a fucking felon, honestly. I mean, these are people who have been here. They provide for us, not just labor, but they’re human beings. They deserve rights.”
Trump was convicted last year on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in New York.
Soboroff thanked the protestors and wrapped up the interview.
“Listen, there’s some salty language out here,” he noted. “But feelings are running high and they’re running hot. But I’ll tell you one thing right now. This is a peaceful protest, if I have ever seen one. This is where some of those troublemakers were over the course of the last week or so, stopping traffic on the freeway, clashing with the riot police from the California Highway Patrol down there. That is not the scene right now. That is not what is happening out here. They want ICE out of L.A., and they’re making no mistake about that.”
