Which Member of the Best F#@king News Team Ever Should Replace Colbert?

It seems like it was only days ago that we were speculating about who might replace David Letterman on CBS’ Late Show. Now that we have our answer, it’s time to start talking about who is going to take over The Colbert Report’s time slot on Comedy Central.

The next guy in line from a time slot perspective is Chris Hardwick, and while Comedy Central has said that “everything is on the table,” including his relatively new, internet-friendly game show @midnight, it seems unlikely that the network is going to mess with a good thing and change the title.

Instead, the most likely candidates are The Daily Show’s deep bench of correspondents, AKA “The Best F#@king News Team Ever.” Assuming that the next Stephen Colbert — who as you may remember started as a Daily Show correspondent himself — will come from that team, here’s a rundown of the candidates, from most to least likely.
