Will Ferrell: Bill O’Reilly Was a ‘Real Sourpuss’ at SNL40

Dressed in full leprechaun regalia, Will Ferrell stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman this St. Patrick’s Day and in this preview video for tonight’s show he shared one highlight from his experience at the SNL40 special last month.
As Ferrell told David Letterman, once he had his Alex Trebek costume on, he rushed out to watch Steve Martin’s monologue segment but found himself distracted by one notable Fox News host.
While every other celebrity in the audience was clapping enthusiastically, Ferrell said Bill O’Reilly was sitting stone-faced with his chin resting on his fist. “I don’t know if he got the wrong seating assignment or something, but just a real sourpuss.”
“Really?” Letterman, who has had the pleasure of hosting O’Reilly on his show numerous times, asked. “He seems nothing if not happy-go-lucky.”
“I don’t know what he was doing there if he wasn’t a fan of Saturday Night Live,” Ferrell added, positing that perhaps he’s just a real “student of comedy.”
