Wilmore Bashes Jeb for Suggesting Iraq ‘Clusterf*ck’ Wasn’t Created by His Brother

For Thursday evening’s Nightly Show, host Larry Wilmore went after GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush for his remarks shifting blame for a deteriorating Iraq from older brother George W. Bush to rival Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Using clips from Bush’s Tuesday afternoon foreign policy speech, Wilmore initially thought the candidate was going to criticize his brother’s military blunder. “Oh, snap, Jeb Exclamation Point is about to call out his own brother,” he joked. “This is like Cain and Abel. Well, it’s the Bushes, so it’s more like that time Niles betrayed Frasier by replacing his camembert with an underwhelming brie.”

But, alas, Bush suggested his brother had left office with a completely safe Iraq, which was then destroyed by a U.S. troop removal under the Obama administration and Clinton’s State Department.

“This is unbelievable to me that Jeb Exclamation-fucking-Point Bush actually had the gall to make it seem like this clusterfuck in the Middle East was not started by his brother,” the comedian responded.

Of course, Wilmore could have also mentioned Bush’s Thursday afternoon remarks that “taking out Saddam Hussein turned out to be a pretty good deal,” but they likely came while he was pre-taping this very episode.
