BREAKING: Biden Administration to Accuse Russia of 2024 Election Interference

The Biden administration is preparing to publicly accuse Russia of launching a sustained campaign to influence the 2024 presidential elections using on Kremlin-controlled media and online platforms to spread disinformation.

The accusation will be part of a broader set of actions expected to be announced on Wednesday, including law enforcement efforts aimed at curbing the alleged Russian operation.

According to four sources who talked exclusively to CNN, Russian state media outlet RT is a central focus of the US response, with officials viewing it as a key tool in the Kremlin’s propaganda machine with disinformation being funneled through both American and foreign voices.

“Taken together, the actions would be the Biden administration’s most significant public response yet to alleged Russian influence operations targeting American voters,” one source revealed.

This comes on the heels of a July action by the Justice Department, which accused an RT employee of using a vast social media network to pose as US residents and spread false information, particularly about the Ukraine war. RT has consistently denied these allegations, ridiculing US accusations that it functions as a Russian influence agent.

Also expected to be named is the Social Design Agency, already sanctioned by the Treasury Department for its role in running fake news sites in Europe.

Although Russia remains a primary focus when it comes to interference, officials are also reportedly monitoring China and Iran, both of which have been accused of using tactics to sway public opinion.
