‘I Will Not Give In!’ AG Letitia James Smacks Down Trump Attacks Outside Fraud Trial Courthouse

New York Attorney General Letitia James hit back at former President Donald Trump’s attacks and vowed “I will not give in” to his bullying.

On Wednesday morning, Trump showed up for a second straight day for his trial in the fraud case brought by AG James and presided over by Judge Arthur Engoron. Throughout the day, Trump took the occasional opportunity to rant to reporters about the case — and frequently attacked James.

At the end of the day, though, it was James who had the last word as she spoke to reporters on the steps of the courthouse where Trump had, minutes earlier, created a scene by interrupting a witness — later claiming it had been a “Perry Mason” moment.

AG James addressed Trump’s attacks, mocked his “performative” behavior, and vowed not to give up:

He’s called me venomous, he’s called me disgraceful, he’s called me radical. He’s called me a racist. And this is only week three.

The reality is, is that not none of his behavior, which can best be described as performative, will change what’s happening in the courtroom. The courtroom, as you know, where we have submitted evidence and the evidence is clear. And that is he inflated his statements of financial interests to enrich himself and his family. And nothing will change that, not the attacks on me or anyone.

At the end of the day, we are here to seek justice and we will seek justice. And so I look forward to seeing Mr. Trump again. I understand that he will be returning next week for Michael Cohen.

But we are here to enforce the law and nothing will change that. No attacks, no words. I will not give in! I will not give up! I will only serve justice and enforce the law. Thank you.
