‘Maybe We Do it Again!’ Steve Bannon Stirs NYC Republican Gala Crowd Into a Frenzy By Proposing Trump Run Again in 2028

President-elect Donald Trump’s second term has yet to begin, but some of his most prominent allies are already pushing for a third.
In a speech at the New York Young Republican Club’s gala on Sunday night, Steve Bannon — former chief strategist to Donald Trump during his first term and current host of the War Room podcast — floated the prospect of Trump making a fourth consecutive run for the White House in 2028.
The 22nd Amendment strictly limits U.S. presidents to two terms. It reads as follows:
“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”
However, Bannon tried to find a loophole to argue that Trump can indeed seek a third term.
“Since it doesn’t actually say consecutive, I don’t know, maybe we do it again in ’28?” Bannon said, to cheers from the crowd. “Are you guys down for that?! Trump ’28! Come on, man!”
Trump himself has previously ruled out a 2028 run. He also called into the gala Sunday night and — while discussing the chances of New York flipping red in 2028 — suggested he will not test Bannon’s Constitutional theory.
“In four years, perhaps somebody else is gonna have to be worrying about that,” Trump said.
