White House Staffers Reportedly ‘Irritated’ With Hunter Biden Because He’s Not ‘Clearing’ His Legal Strategy With West Wing

Some in the White House are “irritated” with Hunter Biden because he has begun to mount an aggressive legal and PR strategy and has not consulted the West Wing.

According to Politico, Democrats, and Biden campaign operatives are split on the tactics employed by the president’s son — who has filed numerous lawsuits and attempted to subpoena former President Donald Trump in response to the criminal charges against him, and the congressional probe which is targeting him. Some believe the fight fire with fire approach is best, but others believe President Joe Biden is best served if Hunter flies under the radar.

One unnamed former 2020 Biden campaign aide told Politico that some White House staffers are “irritated that [Hunter is] being more aggressive, because he is not clearing the tactics and the strategy.”

Still, others connected with the president think that Hunter’s new aggression is the correct strategy.

“The American public likes to see people fight back,” Jamal Simmons — a former communications director for Vice President Kamala Harris — told Politico. “People who fight for themselves tend to get the benefit of the doubt from the public. And I actually think that probably does help the president in the long run.”

Conversely, some in the Hunter Biden camp question whether Hunter’s interests are aligned with his father’s. They believe the White House is willing to cut the president’s son loose, if need be.

“Intentionally or not, they’re betting on the political expediency of sacrificing Hunter,” an unnamed Hunter Biden friend told Politico.
