‘Penile Plethysmograph’ Will Be Used on Former NFL Star Convicted of Rape

 

After convicted serial rapist and former NFL star Darren Sharper is released from prison in nine years, his actions and whereabouts will be, as expected, closely monitored. Lie detector tests, sex offender treatment, GPS tracking, no more drinking alcohol or going to bars — all normal.

But according to The New Orleans Advocate, Sharper will also undergo “penile plethysmograph” tests — a process that measures bloodflow to the penis — in order to determine the level of sexual arousement he receives after viewing explicit images. And if he doesn’t comply, according to the Advocate, he could land back in prison for another 14 years.

Such is the requirement set forth by porsecutors in four states where Sharper was convicted of sexually assaulting nine women.
