Some people have a hard time letting go.

With Hillary Clinton‘s most ardent supporters still stewing over her stunning defeat in the 2016 Presidential election, some are taking calls for her to jump into the New York City mayor’s race very seriously. At least one anonymous Clintonite has been posting “Hillary for Mayor” signs at various spots in the Big Apple.

Since losing politics biggest prize to Donald Trump, the former Senator and Secretary of State has receded from public view, with her most prominent appearances being chance encounters with ordinary Americans — often in a woodland setting.

Despite some very loud public speculation, Secretary Clinton has made no hint of any plans to challenge New York’s incumbent mayor, Democrat, Bill de Blasio. Close friends have said she currently has no plans to stand for elected office again.

Current polling suggests that Clinton would be an overwhelming favorite in the race, both in a primary fight with de Blasio and against any Republican candidate — an assessment she has no doubt heard before. If Clinton did have a change of heart, she might be in for a rematch with another Trump, the President’s oldest son, Donald Trump, Jr.
