A Supreme Court Justice Will Appear as Guest on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show

Stephen Colbert‘s first two weeks of guests on The Late Show boast a wide variety of individuals, from Jeb Bush and Bernie Sanders to Elon Musk and Ban Ki-Moon to Amy Schumer and Carol Burnett.

But in the guest list for the second week released today, there contained a late night rarity (assuming this has even happened ever in history before): a Supreme Court Justice.

No, seriously:

Yes, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will appear as a guest on Colbert’s Late Show on the same night as Emily Blunt and The Dead Weather.

Back in June, after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage, Colbert released a video praising the ruling and poking fun at Breyer’s fellow justice Antonin Scalia. And back on The Colbert Report, Colbert interviewed former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens to discuss campaign finance and Colbert Super PAC.
