Alabama Governor Robert Bentley Expected to Resign Over Abuse of Power Allegations

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley is expected to resign from office today.

You may remember last year when a recording surfaced of the governor engaging in dirty talk over the phone with political aide Rebekah Mason. The Alabama House Judiciary Committee released a report just a few days ago and today marked the start of hearings to impeach Bentley.

According to CNN, the report reveals that Bentley “used state law enforcement officers to intimidate staffers and suppress news of his affair.”

WSFA-TV, the local NBC affiliate in Montgomery, reported this afternoon that Governor Bentley had been booked at the Montgomery County courthouse on two misdemeanor charges:
