Alabama Lawmaker Pushes Ban on Saggy Pants Because God Said So

saggy pantsAn Alabama councilman is pushing for a ban on saggy pants because, seriously, he doesn’t think that’s what God would do.

Frank Goodman spoke to The Daily Beast and explained he wants the ban because there are plenty of people living in Dadeville who “don’t want to see anybody walking around with their pants down with underwear that is showing.”

That’s all fine and dandy, but he went on to say, “What would God do? Did God go around doing this?… He would show me this saggy pant—it’s one of the things He did not do. It is not in His orders to do that to gain eternal life.”

His fellow councilwoman Stephanie Kelley proposed a ban on short skirts too because 1) it would be unfair to target only boys, and 2) When you got on short shorts or a short skirt, leaving nothing to the imagination… it’s like you’re advertising.”

That may end up in the legislation too, and as Goodman again made it abundantly clear, “I prayed about this. I know that God would not go around with pants down.”

(TL;DR version: God Hates Sags.)
