Amazon Will Release Woody Allen’s First Television Series
Woody Allen’s first television series will be a direct-to-streaming Amazon release, the company announced Tuesday.
Allen will write and direct Untitled Woody Allen Project, which will have a full first season on Prime Instant Video. No additional details were available at the time.
The announcement follows a year of renewed accusations of sexual assault against the legendary filmmaker from daughter Dylan Farrow; needless to say, Amazon’s press release makes no mention of them.
“I don’t know how I got into this,” Allen said according to the release. “I have no ideas and I’m not sure where to begin. My guess is that Roy Price will regret this.” (If you’re looking for a fresh example of white male privilege, that’s a pretty good one.)
