Amy Schumer on Cousin Chuck Schumer’s ‘Fake Tears: ‘He Cannot Act, Trust Me’
Amy Schumer is coming to her distant cousin Senator Chuck Schumer‘s defense. President Donald Trump recently attacked the senator when he became emotional over Trump’s Executive Order that restricts travel to the United States from seven predominately Muslim countries. Trump “wanted to know who his acting coach was.”
While Senator Schumer refused to entertain what he called “silliness,” his comedian cousin, who supported Hillary Clinton during the election and has been outspoken against many of Trump’s policies, is coming to his defense.
Her Instagram post is emotional. Schumer expresses shock that “This is what he was thinking about at 621am. This was his tweet after his first soldier died. Also 8 Yemeni women and 7 children died and trump called the raid ‘successful.'”
Then, she defends her cousin by playfully jabbing at him, saying “HE CANNOT act trust me. He can barely smile on cue.” Then, more seriously, she says “He can’t help but be transparent and genuine. He was hurt for those people and all the people facing such constitutional injustice.”
Finally, she calls on her Instagram followers to “Call congress. Call the senate,” saying “We need to wake up and rise up together. People need our help?\.”
