Andrew Sullivan Asks Why Piper Palin Isn’t In School (A: Summer Vacation)

Guys, we don’t mind telling you that it’s been a pretty slow week for news. We’ve got undercover cupcakes and robo-Palins and, of course, that one guy’s rather outgoing male appendage. But we, and other media bloggers, aren’t exactly scrambling to keep track of myriad breaking news items this week. So you’ll forgive the Daily Beast’s Andrew Sullivan for crafting a short blog entry – “Piper Palin as Bodyguard” – that consists of a very important query:

Is it too outrageous to ask why this little girl is not in school, rather than acting as a media bouncer for her mother on a publicity/campaign tour?

Sullivan eventually answered his own questions: 1) Only Jem is so outrageous, and 2) school’s out for the summer.

That said, Sullivan could perhaps turn this into a (slightly more appropriate) offshoot of Wonkette’s take on Palin and other politicians using their children as strategic political assets. That, we’d like to see. But, for now, there are Weiners to roast.

Tip of the hat to reader Jim for having brought this to my attention.
