Arkansas GOPer Who Made Comment About Hillary Getting Shot Resigns
Arkansas Republican official Johnny Rhoda resigned today after making comments earlier this week about Hillary Clinton potentially being shot if she ever came back to the state. Rhoda, the Republican chairman in Arkansas’ second district, had insisted his remark was taken out of context, but today Congressman Tim Griffin‘s office put out a statement saying Rhoda stepped down today.
Griffin condemned Rhoda’s remark as “offensive” and said the decision to step down “is the right one for him, the Party and Arkansas.”
Rhoda told U.S. News that if Clinton ran for president in 2016 and came to her old home state of Arkansas, “She’d probably get shot at the state line.”
