Artist Banksy Shares Powerful Tribute to Charlie Hebdo Cartoonists (UPDATED)

 


The street artist known to the world as Banksy has posted this tribute to the cartoonists killed in today’s attack on Charlie Hebdo’s offices in Paris on his official Instagram account:

UPDATE — Jan. 8, 11:30 a.m. ET: It turns out the image above was not created by Banksy after all. A spokesperson for the artist told The Independent: “We can confirm this is not by Banksy.”

Credit for the image belongs to French illustrator Lucille Clerc, who first posted it on Instagram earlier on Wednesday:
