Biden Compares Major NYC Airport to Third World Country: ‘I’m Not Joking!’
During a speech in Philadelphia on American infrastructure, Vice President Joe Biden compared New York City’s La Guardia Airport to a third world country, a controversial statement to anyone who’s not been to La Guardia.
“If you blindfolded someone and took them at two o’clock in the morning into the airport at Hong Kong and said where do you think you are, they’d say, ‘This must be in America, this is a modern airport,'” Biden said. “If I took you in blindfolded and took you to La Guardia aiport in New York, you must think, ‘I must be in some third world country.’ I’m not joking!”
Biden then argued that America’s decades of economic vitality were due to its investment in infrastructure (unlike its lack of investment in any of these projects that could have connected a freaking train to La Guardia).
“We need to reinvest and modernize our whole infrastructure,” Biden concluded. “Not a joke.”
