Biden Tells Canada’s Trudeau ‘We Need You Very, Very Badly’ Right Now

biden-trudeauVice President Joe Biden met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Ottawa last night and talked up just how important he’ll be to the world for the next few years.

According to BBC News, Biden actually said, “Vive le Canada because we need you very, very badly.”

He told Trudeau that the world will be looking to him and other “genuine leaders” like Angela Merkel. In fact, he actually said that Trudeau and the German leader are very poised to stand up to “more and more challenges to the liberal international order since the end of World War II.”

Biden, you may notice, did not really mention America’s role so much. You can probably guess why.

Biden said yesterday that he was “embarrassed” by how the 2016 campaign was conducted, and it’s clear he was just as shocked as everyone else by Donald Trump‘s win.
