Blind Concert-Goer Joins U2 On Stage To Play Song For His Wife In Lovely Video

Hey, here’s something nice for once (I know, we’ll get back to the murder trials and political elections soon enough)! This past weekend, Adam Bevell went to a U2 concert in Nashville. He held a sign his brother-in-law had written which read “BLIND GUITAR PLAYER. Bring me up.” Bono noticed it and, right before the band left for the night, the front man decided to give Bevell a try. “I’m really nervous, man,” said Bevell as the audience erupted in applause. With that, he and the band launched into “All I Want is You,” he and his wife’s wedding song.

Fox News interviewed Bevell later:

“‘I kept on saying ‘there’s no way this is happening,’ Bevell told Fox News. ‘But I also kept saying, “thank you.”‘

The guitar was strapped onto him and Adam chose to play his and his wife’s wedding song, ‘All I Want Is You,’ while Bono sang along.

‘I could feel him looking at my hands to see if I could do it right, and it was almost like “Alright, you know how to do it. Let’s play it.”‘”

Afterwards, Bono refused to take the guitar back, telling Bevell he could keep it.

If this isn’t one of the nicest stories you hear this week then…well, I guess you’re having an awesome week. Lucky!

Below is a news report from Fox News with interview from Bevell. There are also tons of YouTube videos of the performance (thank God this isn’t in effect). I’ve included one of the best. You can’t see the moment when Bono notices Bevell although you can in this one.
