Breaking Bad Star Bryan Cranston Plays Scandal-Damaged Politico In New Web Series

The man who plays everyone’s favorite meth-making high school teacher on AMC’s Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston, is doing an online turn as an aspiring politician in the web series The Handlers, which debuts today on Atom.com.

In the eight part series, Cranston plays Jack Power, a candidate for a state senate who’s got a team of “Z list” political handlers.

The handlers decide the best way to sell the hapless–and soon to be scandal-plagued–Power is to play up his mistakes. So an accidentally sex-related gaffe becomes a series of intentional mistakes, and, well, an incident with a prostitute becomes a rallying cry.

For die-hard Cranston fans (like this reporter), the first two webisodes of The Handlers seem to be the first time Cranston has played a role that does not land him on camera in his underwear. But there’s still time.

The series is produced by Cranston, and is mildly NSFW (graphic language). Watch it here, from Atom.com:
