Cambridge Analytica Gives Curious Excuse for CEO Talking About Entrapping Pols
Channel 4’s stunning exposé on Cambridge Analytica is only on Part Two, and they’ve already shown us CEO Alexander Nix talking about entrapping politicians with sex workers.
Wow.
Naturally, you may wonder what the company itself had to say. Well, they released a statement claiming that they speak with people to weed out anyone with “illegal intentions”:
Tonight, a Cambridge Analytica spokesman said: “We entirely refute any allegation that Cambridge Analytica or any of its affiliates use entrapment, bribes, or so-called “honey-traps” for any purpose whatsoever… We routinely undertake conversations with prospective clients to try to tease out any unethical or illegal intentions…”
They said: “Cambridge Analytica does not use untrue material for any purpose.”
Some people are, well, skeptical:
[Pulled over on a highway shoulder. Night]
State Trooper: “Sir, why were you speeding.”
Me: “I routinely undertake speeding to try to tease out which other drivers on the highway have a propensity for illegal speeding."

Channel 4 put together a short clip showing a pretty remarkable internal contradiction here about these “honey traps”:
