Cenk Uygur Mocks CNN’s 2020 Rankings: ‘Zero Percent Chance’ Booker and Klobuchar Win
Cenk Uygur has a low opinion of Harry Enten‘s projections on which Democrats would stand the best chance running for president in 2020.
The Young Turks chief used a portion of his Thursday show to bash Enten’s segment for CNN segment where he ranked the top 10 potential candidates in the upcoming Democratic primaries. Uygur wasn’t pleased that Bernie Sanders came in 6th place on the list, arguing that the Vermont senator and former Vice President Joe Biden show more potential than any other possible candidate for the next presidential contest.
As he reviewed the list, Uygur took issue with the placement of Kamala Harris and Beto O’Rourke at the top of the list. He said there was “no statistical reason” the California senator should get the number one spot except for being an “establishment” choice, and as for O’Rourke, he described the aspiring Texas senator as a “mixed bag” because of how he shifted his policies while running against Ted Cruz.
“Their bias screams through the screen and they can’t see it,” Uygur exclaimed as he ripped Sanders and Biden’s positions on the list. “When [Sanders] was an outsider you crapped all over him, now it’s ‘no longer an outsider, not interesting…'”
Things reached a new level though when the segment arrived at Amy Klobuchar‘s placement at number 7. Uygur predicted “she’ll be the first to drop out,” and would never draw more than %2 of the vote.
He also wasn’t impressed with Cory Booker‘s place in the number 4 slot, saying Booker and Klobuchar “have zero percent chance of winning.”
“I don’t know any progressive who would ever vote for Cory Booker for president,” Uygur said. “I don’t know if you know this but we are now the majority in the democratic party, so good luck to you and your buddies in Washington…we’ll meet you in the battlefield.”
