Chelsea Clinton expressed confidence that her mother, Hillary Clinton “will be remarkable” Thursday, when the Democratic presidential hopeful testifies before the House Select Committee on Benghazi. “Americans will really see why so strongly I believe she should be our next president,” Clinton said.
“I think every opportunity my mom has, she proves again and again why she should be our next president,” Clinton said, adding that she admits she’s “very biased” both as Clinton’s daughter, and as a new mother herself. “I feel like I have a different stake in the future because of my daughter,” she said.
Clinton appeared on CBS This Morning Tuesday to promote her new children’s book, “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired, And Get Going!” where she discussed developing “… a thick skin” as the result of growing up in a political family. “I don’t remember a time when people weren’t attacking my parents,” Clinton said.
Clinton said she hopes that Americans will judge the candidates based on their actions, as opposed to what other people are saying about them. “I also know my mom, and I think it’s so much more important to look at what people do and how they lead their lives than what’s happening in the echo chamber,” Clinton said.
