Chris Christie Defends Weird Candy-Eating Behavior: ‘I Run New Jersey, Not M&M Mars!’
Governor Chris Christie called into the Boomer and Carton show this morning and called Craig Carton an idiot because he was interested in getting to the bottom of the mystery of why — why? — Christie was caught in the following predicament.

Christie then came down on Carton and Boomer Esiason for “[joining] the dummies in the Twitterverse” in making a story where there isn’t one.
Oh, but there is one, and Christie knew it, because he came prepared to defend his silly behavior with a contrived explanation. A box, he said, is easier to hold than a bag, so M&Ms should be transferred from bag to box whenever possible.
He continued to call Carton an idiot repeatedly, but the goofiest part was this:
Christie: You get the box, you open the box, there’s a bag inside the box — why they do it that way I have no idea — but you open the up the bag, you pour the bag into the box so it’s easier to hold.
Boomer: Why not just sell it in the box?
Christie: Listen, I run New Jersey, not M&M Mars. I have no idea.
Carton: But M&M Mars is in New Jersey.
Christie: It is, of course it is, and it’s a wonderful corporate citizen.
Carton: Shut ‘em down!
I’m not totally sold on this “bag-in-the-box” thing. I don’t eat a lot of M&Ms but I don’t ever recall there being a bag already inside the box when I have eaten them. Has this happened to you? Anyone? Confirm? Deny?
