Cliven Bundy Has His Very Own Country Tribute Song
I know we’re already on the “oh, look, racism” stage of the Cliven Bundy story, but back before Bundy’s feelings on “the Negro” became public, some of his fans made an actual country song in honor of his fight against the federal government. The song’s titled “Are You Heading to Bunkerville?” (An unfortunate title now that most of the big names who backed Bundy are metaphorically running as fast from Bunkerville as possible.)
The song, by Wayne and Paula Carson, was flagged by the L.A. Times, and the music video features picture after picture of Bundy supporters united behind him at the ranch.
The song evokes very patriotic imagery with lyrics like “Are you heading to Bunkerville to stand up and fight / Are you heading – to Bunkerville – for your freedom and rights.” There are also a few images of Harry Reid because of course.
