Colbert: Dem Message Prevailed Over Trump’s, Which Was ‘Latinos Are Coming to Hit You in the Face With Rocks!’

As he did two years ago, Stephen Colbert went live on election night Tuesday. And this time, he was an a bit more of an upbeat mood — taking time out from a Democratic victory lap in his monologue to rip President Donald Trump‘s campaign messaging.

During his show opener Tuesday, the CBS Late Show host blasted the president for his fear-mongering campaign surrounding the migrant caravan heading north through Mexico to the U.S. Southern border.

“Voters responded to the Democrats’ call to expand health care, more than Trump’s core message: ‘Latinos are coming to hit you in the face with rocks!'”

Colbert also mocked Fox News — the first network to call the House for Democrats on Tuesday night.

“Is Trump right?” Colbert said gleefully. “Is Fox the only non-fake news?”
