Colbert Responds To Glenn Beck: “I Want To Scare People From Voting Actually”

Stephen Colbert showed up on GMA this morning to talk about his upcoming rally with Jon Stewart — his is called the ‘”March To Keep Fear Alive” rally — and took the opportunity to respond to Glenn Beck‘s claim their intention was to “activate” young voters. Said Colbert:

“I don’t know who on my staff told him about the youth activation, because I have been brain washing them for five years. And now I am going to activate them just like the Manchurian candidate,” Colbert, in character as always, said. “But not to vote. I want to scare people from voting actually.”

Like I said, Beck is basically writing their material for them. Colbert also confirmed he would be appearing alongside United Farm Workers President Arturo Rodriguez in front of Congress tomorrow. Colbert spent a day in the field working as a day laborer and told George Stephanopoulos, “I went out there and I worked 10 hours in the fields. And I had to stop because my doctors told me I had developed a condition known as a blister…They had it lanced and bed rest for a couple of weeks and I’m right as rain.”

Funny stuff. Not so funny is that he will apparently be appearing before Congress in character, which, if true, I actually find rather questionable, though it’s entirely possible telling people that is part of the joke. Meanwhile, because no one can go on television these days and not weigh in on Christine O’Donnell here’s what Colbert had to say:

“Terrifying…She is a witch you know that…I think the latest clip is she said she rules the night and feasts on human flesh…I think she has actually gone into a subterranean bunker with Sean Hannity.”
