Commentator Makes Joke About Clinton’s Appearance and Don Lemon Panel Completely Derails
It should go without saying at this point that there is no room in political discourse for a shot at a woman’s body. Professional women shouldn’t be judged by the way they look. We call that a double standard.
Donald Trump supporter Andre Bauer pushed his luck last night during a panel discussion on CNN. While talking about how Hillary Clinton has claimed that her private server emails are boring and contain information about yoga and wedding invitations, he quipped, “Of course, if I saw her in yoga pants, I’d probably want to Bleachbit it again.”
Don Lemon tried to halt him and let him walk his comments back, but Bauer trudged on, claiming he was just trying to make light of a serious situation.
“That was not funny, though,” said a shocked Angela Rye.
If anything, this plays into the Clinton campaign’s assertion that Trump’s comments — and now his associates’ comments — about women are inappropriate and have no place in the White House.
