Cruz Doubles Down On ‘Bathroom Bill’ Talking Points By Defending Curt Schilling to Glenn Beck
Today, Ted Cruz took his opponent Donald Trump to task for stating that he believes trans people should be allowed to use the bathroom that corresponds to their gender identity. The comments from Trump came hours after ESPN fired Curt Schilling for posting a transphobic meme to Facebook and adding his own commentary, which has been getting attention from other big political names like Sarah Palin.
He appeared on the Glenn Beck Show today to tell Glenn Beck a little bit more about his stance and reiterate his position that “men” shouldn’t be allowed in bathrooms with little girls.
He said “we have gone off the deep end” because there has been such severe blowback against new laws in Mississippi and North Carolina that some perceive as being anti-LGBTQ.
He said that his five-year-old daughter “knows the difference between boys and girls,” then made reference to the “Obama Education Department,” which he claimed wants to force junior high schools to allow teenagers of all genders to shower together.
He defended Schilling, too, saying he shouldn’t have been fired for “making the rather obvious point that we shouldn’t allow grown, adult men strangers alone in the bathroom with little girls.”
