FBI Warns of Ferguson Violence from ‘Extremists’ After Grand Jury Decision
The FBI recently sent out an intelligence bulletin, obtained by ABC News, warning of potential violence by extremist protestors in Ferguson if the grand jury comes back with a verdict to not charge Officer Darren Wilson.
The bulletin reads that the grand jury’s decision “will likely be exploited by some individuals to justify threats and attacks against law enforcement.” They back this up by citing specific threats against law enforcement, including an offer of a $5000 bounty for Wilson’s current location.
The FBI also notes that these extremists will pose a threat to peaceful protestors who just want to exercise their First Amendment rights.
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency today over concerns of potential violence in the wake of a grand jury decision.
