Ferguson Is the One Thing Obama and Mitch McConnell Can Agree On

While most Republicans have stayed quiet or found ways to blame President Barack Obama for the newfound unrest in Ferguson, Missouri following last night’s grand jury decision, Sen. Mitch McConnell quietly praised the president’s response on Tuesday.
The future Senate Majority Leader’s office sent the statement below, in which McConnell cannot find anything negative to say about Obama, to The Huffington Post:
I think I would say the obvious which is it was a great tragedy all the way around, for the young man, for the family.
I think the relatives asking for restraint was a very responsible thing for them to do. Difficult situation all the way around. Our hearts go out to everyone involved in it.
I think the President is an articulate spokesman for that issue and I really think he’s right. We’re always in the process of trying to improve our relations with each other in this country. And every time we have one of these episodes, it reminds us we’ve got a long way to go.
And that just might be the best thing to come out of this whole mess.
