Flo Rida Becomes Latest Celeb to Distance Himself from Trump

PicMonkey Collage - Rida TrumpEver since Donald Trump made his controversial statements labeling Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals, broadcast agencies, advocacy groups, and retailers have been racing each other to distance themselves from his business empire. The Miss USA beauty pageant has been one of the biggest losers of the resulting exodus, and Flo Rida, the rapper who was scheduled to perform at the competition, has also decided to step away.

The rapper had been the highest-profile performer scheduled for Miss USA in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and TMZ reported that the rapper’s representative confirmed that he will not make an appearance. There are speculations that the payment might have changed after NBCUniversal stated it would no longer show the event, but Rida has not offered any comments for precisely why he won’t show up for the evening gown competition.

Beyond the loss of coverage from Univision and NBC, Thomas Roberts, Cheryl Burke, and all of Mexico have already stated that they will no longer participate in Miss USA or Miss Universe. The pageant organizers have promised to stream the event online if they cannot get picked up by any TV networks.
