Former McCain Aide Will Vote for Hillary Over Trump: ‘She’s the More Conservative Choice’
Speechwriter Mark Salter was a close aide to John McCain for many years, but he is making it clear today that if given the choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, “I’m with her.”
And that’s not a paraphrase, he literally tweeted out Clinton’s campaign slogan today:
the GOP is going to nominate for President a guy who reads the National Enquirer and thinks it's on the level. I'm with her.
— Mark Salter (@MarkSalter55) May 3, 2016
And if you think that’s not incredible enough, he literally told MSNBC that he considers Clinton “the more conservative choice and the least reckless one.”
Salter continued:
“[Trump’s] policy views are like some drunk’s rant. If he tried to do anything like he says he will, we’d have no allies, a lot more enemies, and more of them with nukes. Finally, he’s unfit for the office, too, temperamentally and morally, a narcissistic bigot.”
There have been some indications that a fair number of Republicans may end up voting for her to stop Trump in the fall.
