Former Federal Judge Robert Bork passed away this morning at age 85. Fox News reports Bork had a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a lung condition, as well as heart problems.
Bork, who also served as solicitor general, was involved in politics for over forty years. He was nominated by President Ronald Reagan to the Supreme Court in 1987, but was never confirmed. Bork’s grandson told Fox News Wednesday,
“Even in his old age, he was just a great person to talk to. He was open to conversation, and I looked forward to seeing him. We were planning to see him for Christmas.”
His funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
