French Police Rebut Rumors of a Fire at the Eiffel Tower Amid Nice Attack
France is in crisis fight now over an apparent attack in Nice, and authorities have had to rebut other rumors that spread of a fire at the Eiffel Tower.

And the idea of “fire” at the Eiffel Tower was quickly spread around social media.
But French authorities quickly debunked the rumors:
Ne propagez pas de fausses rumeurs. Aucun incendie à la #TourEiffel. Un incendie accidentel de camion a eu lieu pont d'Iéna. Il est éteint.

It reads, in part, “Don’t spread false rumors. No fire to the Eiffel Tower.”
It turns out that it was just an accident set off in a fireworks truck.
