Ginsburg Explains What She Meant by Being Not ‘100% Sober’ at SOTU
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recently admitted she wasn’t “100 percent sober” at this year’s State of the Union, and now she’s clarifying exactly what she meant by that. In an interview set to air tonight and tomorrow night on MSNBC, Irin Carmon asks Ginsburg about that offhand remark that really took off online.
And, spoiler alert, it’s not what you thought it would be.
Ginsburg explained, “What I meant was that I had a glass of wine with dinner, and that on top of having stayed up all night writing something.”
So all of you who had the image of Ginsburg getting rip-roaring drunk in your heads, sorry to disappoint.
