Glenn Beck Defends Cruz Campaign: Carson Email Was Not ‘Dirty Tactics’
Glenn Beck and Dana Loesch, both Ted Cruz supporters, defended the Cruz campaign over the Ben Carson email controversy and said it was “fair game” for Team Cruz.
Beck and Loesch first talked at length about how sick they are of Donald Trump, with Loesch calling him the political equivalent of Kim Kardashian. Beck said all Trump has in his arsenal is chaos, and once the number of GOP candidates drops, its effectiveness will wane.
As for the Cruz-Carson controversy––where the Cruz campaign is being accused of underhanded tactics for spreading a very strong implication about Carson dropping out based on extrapolations from the news about Carson going to Florida––Beck said, “I don’t think this is dirty tactics.”
He argued that since the caucuses are all about persuasion, it’s perfectly fair for the Cruz campaign to see this news, reasonably interpret it as a potential shutting-down because of how weird it is, and try to “get the Carson people.”
Loesch added that there’s no evidence so far that Carson lost a single vote because of this.
And to go one step farther, both of them criticized Carson, with Loesch saying she’s not so sure he’s “a super-nice guy anymore.”
