GOP Rep.: Shooter, Planned Parenthood Have ‘Common Denominator,’ No Respect for Life
A Republican congressman today said that there’s a commonality in how Planned Parenthood and the shooter that targeted one of their clinics devalue innocent life.
Arizona’s Trent Franks told The Hill that “what this person did was evil,” but “it should remind us all of the common denominator that Planned Parenthood has with individuals like this who have no respect for innocent human life.”
And he even went so far as to say, “It should only increase our commitment to defund organizations … that further this non-ethic of disregarding the sanctity of human life.”
Over the past few days, in the wake of the shooting, Planned Parenthood officials have expressed some concerns about extreme pro-life rhetoric that they believe may have led to Robert Dear opening fire inside the Colorado Springs clinic.
Republicans have dismissed this as a typical liberal tactic, and some commentators have called the focus on rhetoric a prime example of media bias.
