Hannity Defends Trump’s Immigration Remarks: Not ‘Racially-Tinged’

sean hannityDonald Trump really stirred things up when he said at his presidential campaign announcement, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people.”

NBC dumped Trump today over those remarks, but Sean Hannity came to The Donald’s defense on his radio show today.

Hannity dismissed the suggestion that Trump’s remarks were “racially-tinged” and recalled what he witnessed when he traveled to the U.S.-Mexican border. The Fox News host said there’s clearly a lot of crime concentrated in the area and there are “criminals crossing the border into America.”

Furthermore, he asked, “Who’s coming from Latin America and Mexico? Are they rich, successful Mexicans, Nicaraguans, El Salvador residents? No. Why would they leave if they’re so successful?”

Hannity said there are people trying to cross the border being taken advantage of by these criminals.
