Harry Reid Is Terrible at April Fools’ Day

From the moment soon-to-be-retired Sen. Harry Reid (R-NV) opens his mouth in this exclusive clip from CNBC below, you just know he’s gearing up for a killer April Fools’ Day prank.

Even through his thick dark glasses, you can sense the glint in his eyes as he tells John Harwood, “I’ve gotten so much nice press since I decided I wasn’t going to run again, I think I’m going to run again.”

“Nice,” Harwood replies, refusing to act surprised. As Reid makes one last minor attempt to make his “big announcement” seem even the least bit credible, Harwood does him in once more by beating him to the “April Fools” punch.

“April Fools,” Reid says quickly, realizing he just executed the lamest prank of all time.

If Reid actually wanted to make a splash, he should have put out a press release that said he was running for president in 2016. While most people still would not have believed him, it would have sent at least a few conservatives into a momentary rage.
