Harry Reid Reaches Out to Mitch McConnell: Voters ‘Want Us to Work Together’

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will no longer be in that position in January, and so tonight he issued a statement to his successor Mitch McConnell striking a congenial tone and pushing for more cooperation.

Here’s Reid’s full statement:

“I’d like to congratulate Senator McConnell, who will be the new Senate Majority Leader. The message from voters is clear: They want us to work together. I look forward to working with Senator McConnell to get things done for the middle class.”

In a completely unrelated note, back in July of last year, McConnell took to the Senate floor to decry Reid as the worst Majority Leader in the history of the Senate.
