Here’s What Oregon College’s Guidelines Say About Guns on Campus

 

The horrifying Oregon school shooting today has led to questions about whether guns were permitted on campus by the school or by the state.

Well, back in 2012, the Oregon Senate voted against a measure to prohibit people from carrying weapons on college campuses, though it would have allowed local school boards to make their own policies on whether people should be able to concealed carry.

One report today says that the state of Oregon tightened restrictions back in August requiring background checks to purchase guns online or in person.
