High School Student Disciplined for Asking Miss America to Prom
A Pennsylvania high school senior has been disciplined for asking Miss America, Nina Davuluri, to prom with him. When Davuluri appeared at Central York High School, during the Q&A portion this student approached her and asked her to the prom. The school knew ahead of time about his plans and warned him not to go through with it, but he did anyway and he was slapped with a three-day in-school suspension.
Davuluri, however, posted to the official Miss America Facebook page about the incident and said that the school should reconsider such a heavy punishment.

So alas, this student will not get to attend prom with Miss America. Ah, the romantic fantasies of young men, crushed so suddenly by high school bureaucracy…
