Hillary Clinton and SNL‘s Kate McKinnon Seen Dining Together in NYC: ‘Lots of Laughter’

Screen Shot 2017-02-17 at 9.12.28 AMKate McKinnon of Saturday Night Live has earned widespread praise for her portrayal of various figures in politics, most recently aiming her talents towards impressions of Kellyane Conway and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

But before she was regularly lampooning people in the Trump administration, the versatile Ghostbusters co-star portrayed another political bigwig: former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Who could forget the memorable turn in the fall of 2015, where Clinton herself showed up to Studio 8H to play Val the Bartender opposite McKinnon’s impression? More recently, McKinnon donned the pantsuit on the first show after Clinton’s devastating general election loss for an emotional cold open tribute.

And now, it would appear as if the two have kept in touch.

Page Six reports that on Wednesday night, Clinton and McKinnon dined together at Orzo near Times Square, when the former Secretary of State was in town to see the Broadway show “Sunset Boulevard” with Glenn Close. Said someone who was allegedly seated nearby, “Lots of laughter emanated from their table.”

Page Six also made note that another restaurant-goer, upon seeing Clinton and the SNL star, began mockingly chanting “Lock him up!” regarding a certain someone in the White House.

With all of the increased focus on the Trump team as Saturday Night Live enjoys its highest ratings and relevancy in years, have we seen the last of McKinnon’s turn as the former Secretary of State? Maybe not; the show returns from hiatus with a new episode on March 4th, hosted by Octavia Spencer.
